Over a 87-year career Simon has been a leader in the voluntary, private and public sectors. He has lived and worked in South America, the Caribbean, North Africa, sub-Saharan Africa and the UK. He graduated in Agriculture (BSc (Hons), Reading) and has a post graduate qualification in Tropical Animal Health (MSc, Edinburgh).

Thomas Vedvick is the Vice President of Formulation and Process Development at IDRI. Tom's research interests are focused on the development of large scale protein purification and the characterization of proteins for vaccine development. In addition, Tom directs the exciting adjuvant formulation program at IDRI. He has more than 75 original articles, and holds 78 issued . patents for diagnostics, vaccines, and of infectious diseases and cancer.
Yulia Ovechkina is the Director of High Throughput Screening for the Tuberculosis Discovery Research Group at IDRI. Her work is focused on maintaining existing and developing new screening assays and automated workflows as well as data analysis and database management.
Magnus obtained his Master of Science in Biology at the University Erlangen-Nuremberg. In the Department of Developmental Biology, he investigated molecular determinants in the muscle development of Drosophila. As a visiting Scientist at the University of Washington, he explored the capabilities of microfluidic culture systems to mimic complex vascular structures.

Heather Howell is a Postdoctoral Scientist in the TB Drug Discovery group at IDRI. Her work focuses on identifying and validating protein targets of small molecules capable of killing Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Classes in these accredited online MPH programs are offered synchronously in the evenings, with other professors and students in real time. Application requirements include significant undergraduate credits in math, science, and engineering, and three or more years of professional experience in the field. Some of the concentrations also require a GPA of or GRE scores as well. Part-time students taking approximately six credits per term can complete the programs in two and a half years.
