This course will prepare you for work in health related careers in a professional capacity. It will provide you with the opportunity to develop a range of skills, techniques and personal qualities that you will need for your successful performance in the workplace. In year two of this course you will be able to choose a health or social care pathway to follow.
This course is ideal for you if you are interested in Animal Management or if you would like a career in the animal care industry. On completion, this course provides UCAS points and possible entry into Higher Education. This course could lead to work with the RSPCA, working with Guide Dogs for the blind, Pet Shop management trainee and Veterinary Nursing.
Please note: To gain access to this course you will need to go through a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. If you have criminal convictions or cautions, please do not be put off from applying for the course. Your acceptance on to the course will depend on the nature of any convictions and will be at the discretion of the College and your placement provider.
The Institutes of Technology have offered 6 or 7 year exemptions to applicants to the BA in Applied Social Studies in Social Care at . Tallaght Waterford . and the BA in Applied Social Studies at Sligo . NUI Maynooth also reserves 5 places on the Bachelor in Social Science for BTEC graduates.
Dominique worked closely with a BTEC EV to produce many of the administration documents such as the QA staff handbook, the student handbook and the induction checklists.
All applicants will be invited for interview. All applicants will be provided with a copy of a Confidential Reference Form at interview to be completed by a referee who is very well known to the student. Applicants whose first language is not English may be asked to satisfy the College as regards their English proficiency.
